Marisa Cohen began her dance training at Joanne Langione Dance Center in Newton, MA in various styles and went on to double major in Dance and Psychology at Connecticut College. In addition to her studies in ballet and modern technique and choreogra, Marisa performed, choreographed, and directed numerous student dance groups on campus ranging from the competitive CC Dance Team to multi-cultural dance productions. Post-graduation, Marisa joined OnStage Dance Company (Malden) and has been dancing with the company for the past two years as well as teaching adult dance classes. She performed as a dancer in OnStage | Repertory, a collaborative contemporary dance group, since its first season (2015) before taking on the role as Repertory Director (2016). Marisa has several years experience teaching dance to a variety of ages including programming for at-risk youth and children with social, emotional, and behavioral needs. She has recently completed her Masters of Social Work at Simmons College and is pursuing a career as a clinical social worker for children and families.
