“On Broadway Dancers” was created to give dancers an opportunity to learn more choreography and have more performance opportunities.
Our Dance Team is open to dancers in grades 3 and up and meets on Fridays (4:00pm – 7:00pm) and Saturdays (2pm – 6pm [2pm-4:30pm for dancers grades 3-6, 2pm-5:15pm for dancers grades 7-8, 3pm-6pm for dancers grades 9-12]). Dancers choose one day or the other to participate. Level of commitment is required - high levels of attendance are mandatory for participation.
Performances include Showcase (Dance Team’s version of Recital) and Competition. Dates chosen for Showcase will be announced in September/October. Competition is Memorial Day Weekend in Melrose, MA.
For our Dance Team dancers, we do our best to offer them external opportunities, such as guest choreography workshops and conventions, to encourage additional growth and learning.
Dancers are HIGHLY encouraged to participate in other dance classes in addition to Dance Team. Dance Team is choreography-based and is a rehearsal, not a time for learning and practicing technique.

Performance Group is an audition-based group for dancers entering grades 9-12 who want to take on more performance choreography. This group was created for and geared towards dancers who want to continue dancing after leaving Dance Place.
Auditions are held in August and are followed by workshops with external choreographers. Dancers auditioning for Performance Group are required to attend a certain number of workshops.
Requirements for Membership:
Dancers in this group will have at least one extra competition opportunity, at least one extra convention opportunity, opportunities for leadership within the Dance Place community, and more!
